i think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy
because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless
and they don’t want anybody else to feel like that

Last night some friends and I decided to do a “secret circle” and share things about ourselves. We started out sharing awkward sex stories and childhood mishaps, little tidbits of information that weren’t of much importance, but as we got more comfortable, real secrets started coming out. In our group of 8 people, I learned that 3 had purposefully harmed themselves at least once, two had been affected by an eating disorder, 3 had been sexually molested, 5 worried they’d never be able to have their own children, 4 had fearful medical circumstances, two had been domestically abused, 5 admitted to having homosexual thoughts and behaviors, and 3 had been suicidal (two of whom had attempted suicide). This was only what they admitted to the group. I’m not telling you this for sympathy. Very few people who will read this actually know me or my friends. I’m telling you this because it’s proof that you are NOT alone, proof that every human being has a story. That’s something I don’t EVER want to forget.
